Apollo Gate Operators, Inc. was founded in 1984 by Dick Loos and Bill Duncan at a small facility in San Antonio, Texas. Apollo created Electronic Barrier Systems, Inc. to produce the linear actuators that are still used today in Apollo’s residential and light commercial swing gate operators. In 1999, as business continued to grow, Apollo built a 16,000 square foot building located at 12902 Delivery Drive in San Antonio, the company's current operating headquarters. Apollo made a commitment in 2002 to enter the commercial gate operator market with 12-volt DC commercial operators and now offers a complete line of residential and commercial slide and swing gate operators. Apollo continues to develop new products and enhancements based on requests from their distributors. All Apollo gate operators are ETL listed and meet the UL 325 standard with the exception of the basic 1500 and 1600, which are recommended for farm and ranch use.
